Last week tax law specialist Gaily Kuusik joined the team of international law firm Glimstedt Straus & Partners. Kuusik will be working in Glimstedt's tax law division, focusing mainly on VAT advisory and tax litigation issues.

"Gaily is an excellent lawyer, her experiences in tax-related consultation are very strong and she is also in high demand as a talker at tax seminars," added Lätt.

Law firm Glimstedt Straus & Partners tax law division has received international recognition on several occasions – the Tax Directors Handbook 2009, which gives ratings based on independent market research, included Glimstedt's partner and attorney Priit Lätt into the top 250 tax attorneys in the world.

Gaily Kuusik sees her new position in Glimstedt as a step up for herself and also for the taxpayers whom she counsels – in addition to tax counseling, Kuusik's position in Glimstedt allows her to deal with tax arguments and defend the interests of Glimstedt's clients first-hand. Gaily will also continue to work as a lawyer in the Estonian Taxpayers Association.

Gaily Kuusik has a master's degree from the University of Tallinn in political sciences and has also studies in the University of Münster in Germany. Previously Kuusik has worked in Tallinn Tax Board, Estonian Tax and Customs Board and in the audit company Rimess. In addition, Kuusik also gives lectures in the University of Tallinn on the subject of tax law.
