Glimstedt advised Bioforce Group on the largest-ever investment in the Baltic biomethane sector

Glimstedt advised Bioforce Group in connection with an investment by Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund (3SIIF), aimed at supporting the company’s expansion in Estonia, Latvia and Poland. The transaction represents the largest-ever investment in the Baltic biomethane sector.

Bioforce Group is Estonia’s largest biomethane producer, operator and distributor. The company currently operates three biomethane plants in Estonia, with a fourth plant in Viiratsi entering commissioning. With the support of the investment, Bioforce Group plans to increase its production capacity from approximately 250 GWh to more than 1 TWh by 2032 and develop new projects across the Baltics and Poland.

Glimstedt Estonia advised on the transaction in cooperation with the TEGOS and Glimstedt Latvia teams. The Glimstedt team was led by partner Marko Pikani, with Sandra Valdek-Padovani also advising on the Estonian side. The work of Glimstedt Latvia was coordinated by Lauris Zubulis.

Glimstedt Estonia is a long-term legal adviser to Bioforce Group.

The investment supports Bioforce Group’s further growth and the expansion of biomethane production capacity in a region where renewable energy, energy security and local production capability are becoming increasingly important.
