Glimstedt and Ilyashev & Partners Represent NGO Slava Ukraini Pro Bono in Criminal Court Proceedings in Ukraine

Glimstedt, in cooperation with its Ukrainian partner Ilyashev & Partners, represents the Estonian NGO Slava Ukraini on a pro bono basis in criminal court proceedings in Ukraine concerning the alleged misappropriation of charitable funds and related claims for the recovery of more than UAH 38 million (approximately EUR 730,000).

If the claims are upheld and compensation is recovered, the funds will be transferred to the official donation account of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in accordance with the NGO’s statutory objectives.

Glimstedt and Ilyashev & Partners are jointly coordinating the legal assistance and representation of the client. In Ukraine, the matter is being handled by Ilyashev & Partners lawyers Denys Shevchenko and Yaroslav Mudryi under the leadership of Senior Partner Roman Marchenko. On behalf of Glimstedt, legal assistance is coordinated by Attorney Maria Veermäe, while the overall matter is coordinated by Attorney at Law and Partner Randu Riiberg.

In Ukraine, the case concerns Hennadi Vaskiv and IC Construction. In Estonia, separate charges have been brought against Johanna-Maria Lehtme. The criminal case is being heard by the Frankivskyi District Court of Lviv.

This is a high-profile cross-border matter of significant public interest, in which it is essential to ensure the consistent and professional protection of the client’s interests in the context of both civil and criminal proceedings.
