Glimstedt Provides Legal Advice to Startup Sportivebuddy

Sportivebuddy, a sports community application revolutionising communication and workouts for sports enthusiasts, received overwhelmingly positive feedback at the StarterTallinn Startup program. As part of their second-place award, Glimstedt Estonia’s legal consultation, led by partner Marko Pikani, will assist them in becoming a leading sports community platform.

The visionary behind Sportivebuddy is Elnur Valikhanli from Azerbaijan, who identified a market gap while studying in Estonia and struggling to find a workout partner. Despite social media being a common avenue for such connections, as a newcomer in Estonia, it proved ineffective for him. This led to the creation of Sportivebuddy, a platform akin to Tinder for sports enthusiasts to connect and find training buddies in their vicinity.

Elnur noted, “I soon realized that the need for such a solution is not unique to me. My mother, who wishes to work out in Baku, has a similar need.” The idea gained traction, and with extensive market research and user behaviour analysis, Sportivebuddy became a reality, earning second place at NEXPO TALLINN.

Marko Pikani from Glimstedt emphasized the importance of focus and execution capability in development activities, praising Sportivebuddy as a good example of clear vision and achieved success through consistent effort. Glimstedt supports Sportivebuddy, among other things, in communicating with investors.

Addressing safety challenges, Sportivebuddy is committed to creating a secure sports community. Elnur stated, “We work to create a safe sports community as we support physical activity,” highlighting user involvement in maintaining safety, reporting false profiles, and controlling their data.

Sportivebuddy, currently available as a demo, anticipates a 2024 launch in limited markets with English as the primary language. The app’s availability will expand based on market/language demand, initially offering a free phase with subsequent additions like different user profiles and enhanced matching services.
