Tristan Karu is an attorney at GLIMSTEDT with extensive experience in resolving a wide range of legal disputes. His work focuses on handling complex disagreements, including representing clients in pre-trial, out-of-court, and court proceedings. Tristan’s key areas of expertise include construction disputes, shareholder conflicts, creditor representation and rights protection in bankruptcy proceedings, claims for termination of co-ownership, criminal defence, lease disputes, as well as various corporate matters such as commercial registry proceedings, representation of management board members, and judicial protection where necessary.
A significant part of his practice involves advising some of the largest clients in the Baltic forestry sector, particularly in forest property acquisitions and legal due diligence (LDD) processes.
Tristan has over 8 years of experience representing clients before all levels of court. Before becoming a member of the Estonian Bar Association, he supported sworn advocates as a legal assistant, gaining valuable knowledge and hands-on skills — from client communication to litigation strategy and drafting procedural documents. His long-standing legal experience, both as a legal counsel and attorney, has shaped his practical and client-oriented approach, which is marked by thoroughness and a strong focus on problem-solving.
